Blue Agave Plant for Beginners

The blue agave is a desert, heat-loving plant that will thrive for most people, even as an indoor plant, as long as it receives a sunny spot. It can also do well in a container during the warmer months. However, it does not tolerate temperatures much below 50 degrees and does not require a lot of water, as it can develop root rot if watered too frequently. This plant boasts a lovely grey-green color.

Our Quart-Sized Container cannot be shipped to California or Hawaii, as the blue agave does not tolerate cold temperatures at all. It performs best when placed in a sunny spot indoors.

At full size, the blue agave can reach a height of 20-24 inches, growing at a slow pace. It is suitable for growing in USDA Hardiness Zones 9-11, requiring full sun and low water conditions.
